Birth of the Empires

hi guys, i have been testing out over 100 turns so far ,
and even though i have not yet expanded far enough to find a deuterium field, it is good fun

I have found an error on the settings button (either when the game first loads the program, or from within the game via the "Game Settings" menu option).

If i press Ignore, the settings window appears,
if i press retry, it crash/quits the game.
if i press abort, it exits the game

just to let you know...

Please try to delete your BotE.ini file previously. I guess this lets this go away.
If ignoring works, you can go with it, as this is probably not a fatal problem.

i deleted the .ini file and it works (the error window never pops up).

i had to delete it from the main Documents>Birth of the empires folder as could not find any .ini file in the different game folders.
(does this mean that the game uses a central folder 'absolute' for the .ini file, instead of the relative one)?

yes, normally there's this one central bote.ini in \Documents\Birth of the empires folder

I think I remember one issue mixing Bote.ini from Alpha6 and 7. Workaround is to just delete the ini file to be generated new automatically.
