Finding obscure information on the wiki

My first few days considering if I was going to mod BotE was spent on the English wiki but it is very incomplete.

So I looked at the German wiki by using Chrome's autotranslate function and by looking at categories, but still, some of it was vague and impenetrable to comprehension.

Then I noticed an A-Z category. That is the link above. I then read all of it, and slowly by combining all three, a larger picture emerged about BotE.

I bet you take the same journey. It's a lot of reading and it takes time to pull little bits and pieces of notes into a gestalt.

At some point, I'm working on the English wiki and trying to put that in words so modders later won't have to do it piecemeal.

Besides all that, and the mod topics I'm trying to populate with details, then little items come up in passing during forum posts. I feel like I have read every post for the last 7 years over several months and trying to draw it all together and connect it all.

It's daunting as you have to play hundreds of hours and try to put that information into practice. Then maybe you get a glimmer of what is going on in the source code.

You can't even think about modding until you imagine why the data files were given the values they were. There were good reasons for it for game balance the preponderance of the time.
