Turn #701 after commodity manipulation. The Omega treasury is 7.7 million and numerous troops, ships, and infrastructure were all completed in a single turn.

If one plays the regular game as the Khaoran, you will probably lose ordinarily against 1-3 opponents, but I bet if you successfully applied these principles, even with sabotage unmodded, then you could routinely beat one, perhaps two, if very aggresive like a predator, and the very best players could beat all 3. It really depends on which 3 empires you fight as the Cartare, the Rotharians, then the Omega, if they gang up, would crush the Khaoran unless they applied the commodity manipulation, built every intel agencies they could, used the manager function to focus on intelligence, and colonized like crazy. The Khaoran would be spread very thin and so vulnerable, but every colony nets 4 type 2 intel agencies plus adding to them.

It still needs to be modded.

Why add income buildings if we can maniulate the commodities prices?

To help new players who have a strenuous learning curve seldom seen in 4X strategy games.
To especially help the AI cope with clever human players.

Modable games often have elements that are for the ai only. Most AI types cannot take longer and longer turns to basically be like advanced chess programs, and predict better outcomes based on "looking many turns ahead". On a tablet, it would slow down turn times to a crawl. Even when GalCiv 2 came out and had this feature on a smaller galaxy map than BotE's maximal size, it slowed down turn times.

You give the AI other benefits like a lower upkeep amount or a faster research rate or even "spawned units" based on "conditions" like advanced turn #. If we had scripting, BotE could do incredible things like properly have strong random events on advanced turns. You could balance random events.

Turn #702
11.5 million

If we had scripting, then minor alien race fleets could be released on turn #x where that is a high number. With modding, we could assign minor alien races and have several sectors under their control. Maybe make some minor alien races be mini-major races. Then get smaller chunks of the galaxy.

Turn # 704
Asked the Chewark to join and sent 5000 credits and 200 deritium as a test which the maximum that can accumulate in sectors Level 4 deritium refineries. Nope. They want their independence.

You have so many ships and troops now. Go to the empires screen and military. Look for experienced troops. Where are they? Malodan. You can sort by troops and experience

You look through the military screen and two Beth Extremeum transports are available:
OMG Atus F
OMG Jota F
Send them to Malodan which is in sector 15,16. Then send them wherever. By themselves Beth Extremeums are FAST as they have a speed of 4 plus the 20% bonus from special research. Be care when navigating, as if they didn't have an escort, and this was a regular game, a major race like the Rotharians could be cloaked and then ambush them.

It's a lot of tapping and menus, but BotE facilitates a way to pick the best and most experienced starships and troops to be deployed and redployed to the battlefront. Technically you would send an assault ship to be an escort so fleet them together.

They in go after the heavy warship fleet takes out minor racefleets. Your fleet will probably have a dreadnought type Vi class ship as the flagship, of course coupled with an Omega battleship, but then with whatever destroyers, cruisers, and frigates, plus fighter types you desire.

Rather a big change versus struggling with one scout ship, right?

This is my last day testing this and reporting on it. I'll try many things to see what happens and what seems the most effctive on the minor race aliens. I still will try peace first, which is not necessarily the best option as I should do a first strike on the Yimandar.

I'm sending the customized scouts in first, which is like the hapless Roman soldier/diplomat who visited a city to see if they would accept surrender and live, rather than be crushed by the Roman army outside. Which means short lives for many of these soldier/diplomats.

The Omega have limitless resources (except deritium).
They essentially have limitless credits as they can rush production and gain 3-5 million per turn.
They have all known knowledge so don't research anymore.
They control half the galaxy.
They have a massive army and an armada of customized powerful starships.
95+% of the populace have fanatical morale.
You could call it a utopia.

Say you ordinarily get 10 to 25 buildings that complete per turn. Every Omega sector completes tasks every turn which is equivalent to two weeks of time. Imagine the growth rate of construction for half the galaxy. They are juggernauts and so unstopable. To oppose them would be suicidal.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Juggernaut

Why wage peace and war? Genuinely only out of lust for minor alien race technology so they can build special projects and customize starships to improve them.

Read the backstory on the Omega Alliance. They are plant symbiotes who need lifeforms to do work and research and wage war. What would such a being most want? Freedom from having to do that. They are like trills. Plants either gain nutrients from the soil like fungi or from photosynthesis. The Omega need tetroin to pacify their hosts and feed them...not themselves.

It makes sense that upon reaching level 14 tech, they would seek to steal technology so gain minor race tech, and so build using those types of weapons if they are superior in some way confering a tactical and strategic advantage.

Starship speed is a frustration for them. Their best ships can go 4.2 per turn but that isn't fast enough.

The oldest Earth lifeforms are bristlecone pines and the Pando which is one of the largest organisms on the Earth as a series of clones of aspen trees.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bristlecone_pine
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pando_(tree)
It occupies 43 hectares (106 acres) of land.

And Ulimately they would have a goal of liberation from symbiosis...perhaps with genetically engineered created hosts or artificial lifeforms that lack sentience themselves.

The Omega have three military academies and numerous internment camps. They train soldiers at the later which is badly incorrect. Being a law enforcement officer has nothing to do with soldiering. Soldiers create chaos, kill people and break things. LEOs protect civilians and maintain law and order.

Soldiers in history were forced into temporary urban pacification, but were then replaced by specialized LEOs to greater effect.

Likely the Omega would create military academies in every sector that did both starship crew and infantry/armor training. Then they wouldn't have to send their slow ships to a central place for training, only to have to go back to pick up soldiers. Genuine training. The current paradigm is a logistical logjam over tens of lighyears per sector so hundreds typically.

If there was ever a BotE 2.0, then units could have attributes and so add a lot to calculations regarding range or area of effect or speed or terrain use or accuracy or discipline or constitution ie physical hardiness or vulnerabilities. Then unit composition would be very interesting for all battles has different qualifiers. You learn from even ancient battles as a soldier, but combine the old with new.

The Omega have several examples from incorporated member minor alien races to recover/extract deritium. Most definitely they would abandon standard deritium trading as it does very little good especially in the Omega's current advanced state.

They would start doing alternative deritium mining or even use some better. I don't know if that is like spice from the Dune novels or dilithium or a hybrid. But beyond level 14, they would not limit themselves. If it's "spice" then travel does not exist, but space is folded. Thus there is no speed.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of ... man_effect
The Holtzman effect allows instantaneous intragalactic travel. Take a map. Pick two spots. Fold it and touch them together. That is how it works.

One tactic on such a rapidly advancing and efficient empire is to sell the resources down to 50, then rush production, which then gets the resource prices to ~1500 at times especially when rushing starships in a single turn. Then sell back down to 50. Now go through all the newly colonized sectors that are about 3-4 turns of age. Now note the resource amounts in local storage. Many have new mines but are totally focused on construction (industrialization). You could send a resource route there, but then it would be superfluous later. So just add a couple "buys" of resources (often deuterium and duranium early on, and iridum later, and then crystals when making troops). It's way faster but expensive as it's wasteful when sitting on HUGE surpluses. The issue is the difficulty of finding open resource route slots by hunting through many, then making them. Otherwise, in a pinch, a transport can be loaded with ore/crystals and fly to a sector and deposit them. It will make you irritable to have 20 "freighters" who are all doing this shuttling around as their primary task...until finally they can haul troops.

This "tides you over" like eating a snack in the afternoon when supper is very far away. It gives the new colonized sectors just enough to make it while infrastructure tapers off and mining takes over.

Later in the game, the newer colonized do make some 2nd, 3rd, and 4th waves of ships/troops, but these lack experience, right? Those are not who you want launching offensives. You want the veterans. These other troops can act to garrison and relieve veterans at a newer conquered territory, so the older veterans can be redeployed for an even newer offensive. Build internment camps so your new troops gain experience.

This saved game for turn#700 is a great simple way, in general, to learn how to play BotE without starting a game from turn #1 and not able to do much...for hundreds of turns. I basically save you a whole month of micromanaging.

But there are problems to solve like Menkent being on the very verge of famine for several turns. Then once fixing it, and realizing that BILLIONS might have starved, then you will never ever let that happen as it takes ten times as much effort to fix it when the population is too high at first. You do not allow lots of colony ships to colonize in a successive turn as you might send 6 in to a large sector with many planets and a high cap on population, so it tempts players to jumpstart a colony. It's everything you can do to save them.

There are many reasons for creating this save game, as I hoped that lots of new or even frustrated players would give it a try. Even people who didn't like it the first time, should give it a try.

Not to offend anyone, but I think it's better than Uciana and people rave about that. Sure, BotE has an old school feel". So what? It's great for so many reasons, stable, not a demanding piece of software, elegant, sharp crisp graphics, attention to astronomy and detail, an ode to innumerable scifi stories and tv and films.

I am truly impressed.

Someone who has a windows emulator like Exagear might try loading BotE on their PC, copying to their tablet, and running it under Exagear. That is what some Civ 3 players do. It might run.

Believe it or not, there are new space 4X games that cost money that aren't able to 10% of what BotE does and many are button mashers. BotE requires intelligent players. BotE is not a timewaster game as so many Android games are described. It takes enormous planning to launch ships in a fleet, that are able to do the job, with experience, get there safely, attack a sector, fight minor race alien fleets, then also do a ground invasion, pacify the sector, and slowly control it. Then even customize their ships and use their tech on your customized ships. And build special projects that are strategically important.

That is not a waste of time. Nothing is more valuable to the formations of young intelligent minds. All of them then will learn about cashflow, commodity price variation, supply and demand, logistics, complex processes to create highly specialized products, etc.

BotE facilitates strategic planning.

If no one downloads the save game, then there is no rationale for me to spend a month configuring a complex Terran vs Khaoran advanced save position. That's fine by me. Then I would spend more time just figuring out a better way to mod BotE.
